2024 NSFFC

2024 North Shore Firefighter Challenge

In April 2024, we had over 18 teams and 1700+ visitors come to enjoy the Challenge and anticipate just as much excitement for this coming year.
We raised 662lbs of nonperishable food for our local food banks and our goal is to beat that number for 2025.
The event filled local hotels, restaurants and brought new clientele to small businesses, in turn, creating a positive economic environment for our communities.
Another great result was that recruitment has increased for the 2024 Host Department. As we grow and progress as a team, work with our communities, listen to feedback and develop our goals and ideas; the future of the NSFFC looks bright.

Did an incredible job doing Search and Rescue, which including going into a mock apartment smoked out while searching for missing people. They rescued both the parent and child in a safe, efficient and well executed manner. Great Job guys!

Team #2 SSRFD

Spanish Sables River Fire Department

Won the Most Sportsmanlike Award. Their dedication to not only being firefighters but to their team and community were outstanding.

No matter the obstacles they faced through the weekend, they met everyone with kindness and positivity.

The Children's Coloring Challenge was a huge success!

"The first ever North Shore Fire Fighter Challenge exceeded all my expectations especially for a first time event. A big thank you to everyone that helped to make this event a reality and the Town of Blind River/BRFD for supporting the Blind River competitors. BRFD walked away from the competition with two awards and I need to thank my competition partner and coach specifically for carrying our team through to win 'Best Overall Team'. I'm already looking forward to sharpening my skills for next year. - Chris Z
