1907 Pumper
Bill Richardson is one of our Directors and is Master of Judging. He has been a firefighter for over 25 years and is still as focused and dedicated as the day he started. The reason we are graced with the 1907 at our Annual event is thanks to Bill.

The History
The 1907 Pumper holds a special place in our hearts as it was the main focal point at the first North Shore Firefighter Challenge.
It arrived to its home of Blind River in Nov 1906 where it served the Blind River Fire Department.
The rear wheels were repaired by the Amish in the early 2000's
It had never left the town of Blind River until...

First Voyage
The 1907 Pumper made its maiden voyage from its home to the site of the North Shore Firefighter Challenge on April 26th, 2024. This journey was a symbolic representation of all local firefighters commitment to serving and protecting our community.
It was a heartfelt moment for all of our Directors and tears were shed as it was placed front and center at the event.
Every person that came to the event took notice and awed in its presence.

Pride and Legacy
The 1907 Pumper represents the pride and legacy of our firefighting community. Its presence at the North Shore Firefighter Challenge reminds us of the sacrifices made by past and present firefighters and inspires us to uphold their noble values.
Our appreciation for the Blind River Firefighters Association and our Director Bill Richardson is beyond any words that we could write.
Thank you for the honor.

A moment in time
Here is a shot of the 1907 during a parade.
This photograph was taken in the early 2000s shortly after the repair of its wheels.
The Fire Marshal of the OFM graced the parade and sat upon it while pulled by two local Belgiums.
This concluded the final horse drawn pull of its career.
